Homemade mouthwash recipe

This homemade mouthwash freshens breath, cleans mouth, strengthens gums, and protects your from tooth decay.

You will need:

1 qt of water
1 oz of fennel seeds
1 qt jar or bottle

Remedy Recipe:

1. Pour 1 qt boiling water over 1 ounce fennel seeds in a heat resistant container.
2. Cover the container tightly so no air escapes.
3. Infuse for half an hour.
4. Strain seeds from infusion and re-cover/cap. Use with every brushing.

You may add a few drops of essential oil to your homemade mouthwash for flavoring and added benefits.
Some common choices are:

Spearmint
Peppermint
Orange
Clove (for those with sensitive teeth)
anise
lemon
Cinnamon

Note: tincture of myrrh is another common recipe addition to homemade mouthwash for those with bleeding, sore, or inflamed gums and mouth ulcers.
