Chives Salt

Chives salt herbal recipe:

1. In a small glass baking dish mix 4 ounces coarse sea salt with 4 Tablespoons of fresh chive snips. (snip chives so they're about 1/4" long.)
2. Bake sea salt and chives mixture on very low heat.(warm setting) This will dry the chives and the salt with absorb the chives flavor. (if you do not have warm setting just set your oven to the lowest temperature.) Baking times will vary by oven so just keep checking the mixture to prevent burning. When the chives turn a dark green they should be dry enough.
3. Remove chive salt from the oven and let cool.
4. When the salt is cool to the touch, store in a small glass jar. Mixture will keep for a long time.

Use chive salt in recipes in place of regular salt, dash on french fries, or rub on steaks.

Note:
Just remember that while sea salt offers many minerals it does not contain iodine. However, if you consume a lot dairy, seafood, or processed foods you have probably gotten you iodine needs from those sources.
