Anise settles an upset stomach and relieves gas

Anise Tea recipe: Colic remedy

1. Crush or Crack 1 teaspoon Anise seeds, to release essential oil
2. Pour 1 cup boiling water over Anise seeds.
3. Steep for 10 minutes; Stain.
4. Dilute for infants, Add 1 cup of cool water to tea mixture.
5. Let tea set until luke warm, pour a few ounces into baby bottle, give when colic symptoms start.


*Note:
Talk with your obstetrician before giving any herbal remedy to infants & children.

I love your blog. I remember my mom making some kind of tea for my first born when he had colic. I also remember that she made onion ea, but I can't remember what it was for. Wish I had paid more attention.

Thanks for the recipe..... just a note one thing that I learned with my daughter was that sometimes we think it is colic when it is actually gas induced because the nipple size on the bottle is too small! We were using the appropriate size for her age but when we went up a size all of our problems disappeared! Might be worth a try for some of you out there.....a good rule of thumb is if it takes your baby more than 5 minutes to consume a small bottle the nipple is too small....
